FREE GUIDE
Most walk problems aren't really walk problems. They start at the front door and build from there.
Sound familiar?
Your arm feels like a tow rope
Your dog pulls from the first step to the last, and you come home sore.
Leaving the house is chaos
Spinning, jumping, and barking the moment the leash comes out.
You dread seeing other dogs
You cross the street or change your route to avoid a scene.
What's inside
Six steps to a calmer walk
Sniffing is great. Your dog should get plenty of it. This guide shows you how to give it a time and a place, so the whole walk gets easier.
1 - A calm start at the door
The walk starts before the door opens. Fix this and everything after gets easier.
2 - The structured walk
Position, pace, and check-ins, so your dog follows you instead of the other way around.
3 - Sniffing as a reward
A simple stop, look, go sniff loop that makes good walking pay off for your dog.
4 - What to do when they pull
The one move that teaches a tight leash never gets your dog where they want to go.
5 - Long line freedom time
How to give your dog room to explore at the park, with rules that keep it safe.
6 - A calm finish at home
How you end the walk sets up the next one. Small habit, big difference.
Who made this
Hi, I'm Ruben. I own Kindred Dog PDX here in Portland. I've spent over 12 years training family dogs, more than 700 of them. Nothing fancy. Just practical skills that make life with your dog easier. Everything I teach starts with relationship and structure. Get the foundation right and the surface problems, like pulling, usually fade on their own. This guide is the same starting point I use with my private clients.

Quick questions
Is this really free?
1
Yes. Enter your email and both guides land in your inbox right away.
The steps work for any age. Puppies just need shorter sessions, and older dogs may need a slower pace.
2
Will this work for my puppy or senior dog?
No. A standard leash and some of your dog's food or treats is all you need to start.
3
Do I need special equipment?
If you're in Portland, I offer private lessons. If you're farther away, my online course Calm and Connected walks you through the full plan.
